Gondola retrofits

The gondolas are not the problem. The pegboard in them is.

A gondola upright will outlast several merchandising cycles. Replacing whole runs to change what hangs on them means paying again for structure you already own — and closing the aisle while you do it.

What changes

Same bay. Different back. A different category becomes possible.

Three-step sequence: an existing gondola with a pegboard back; a NuPanel aluminum slatwall panel dropping into the same bay on Panel-Mod clips in about one minute; the finished bay merchandised on 1 inch on center slats rated over 50 lbs per linear foot. 1 · Existing gondola Pegboard back, limited capacity 2 · NuPanel drops in Panel‑Mod clips, 6″ increments 3 · Merchandised 1″ O.C. aluminum, 50+ lb/ft ~1 min

How a programme runs

Pilot, measure, then scale.

Send a bay photo

Plus the gondola width. That is enough to confirm which panel fits.

Panel schedule

We work out retrofit, end cap and wing panel counts per run.

Pilot store

One store, so you can measure the effect rather than model it.

Measure

Sales per linear foot and what the category can now carry.

Production

Fabricated in Comstock Park to the confirmed schedule.

Phased rollout

Shipped across North America in the sequence your programme needs.

What you get

Three panel types cover a whole run.

Retrofit panel

Replaces the back of a standard bay. 12″, 24″ and 36″ heights on 6″ increments, for 36″ and 48″ gondola widths.

End cap panel

Finishes the end of the run, where the highest-value merchandising sits. 14.5″, 36″ or 48″ wide in 48″, 60″ or 72″ heights.

Wing panel

Extends the merchandising face at 48″, 54″ or 66″ high, or custom, where a category needs more vertical surface.

Good to know

Common questions about gondola retrofits

You keep the uprights, bases and footprint you already own and change only the merchandising surface. Beyond the fixture cost, you also avoid the labour and lost trading time of tearing out and rebuilding a run. Ask us to price a pilot store and you will have a real comparison rather than an argument.
Roughly a minute per section with the Panel-Mod clip system — no drilling, no template. In practice that means retrofits fit inside overnight windows, which is what makes them viable across a chain.
Retrofit panels are made for 36" and 48" gondola widths in 12", 24" and 36" heights on 6" increments. Send a photo of a bay and the width and we will confirm before you order anything.
End cap panels cover those — 14.5", 36" or 48" wide in 48", 60" or 72" heights. Wing panels extend the merchandising face at 48", 54" or 66" high, or custom.
Yes, and we would encourage it. A single store tells you what the retrofit does to sales per linear foot far better than any projection we could offer.
NuPanel is anodized aluminum from 50%+ recycled content and carries the same LEED certification as our aluminum slatwall. Retaining existing fixtures rather than scrapping them is generally the better environmental story anyway.

Ready to start

Send one photo of one bay.

With the gondola width, that is enough for us to confirm the panel, estimate a run and price a pilot store. No survey required to get started.
